About The Position

The Clinical Nurse (RN) at Stanford Health Care provides hands-on patient care in a dynamic and evidence-based environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or Compact State Nurse License required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required by the cost center.
  • 12-24 months of acute care RN experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in teaching or mentoring other nursing staff.
  • Knowledge of the ANCC Magnet Model and Watson Caring Science theory.

Responsibilities

  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families to create a healing environment.
  • Obtain and interpret relevant assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and monitor for adverse responses.
  • Teach patients and families about self-care and illness prevention, adjusting information based on their needs.
  • Demonstrate effective management in rapidly changing situations, activating emergency protocols as necessary.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with healthcare practices and standards.
  • Integrate multiple work requests and set priorities effectively.
  • Contribute to team building and positive morale within the unit.
  • Utilize technology for communication and documentation, and contribute to the knowledge of nursing staff.
