About The Position

The NP/PA has a dynamic and varied role. Responsible for working with vascular and/or interventional (IR) radiologists to provide quality care to the patients. Skills utilized in his/her job performance include assessing, communicating, teaching, managing, follow-up and leadership with patients in the program(s). Must have a genuine interest in Radiology.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years of relevant NP/PA experience preferably in an interventional radiology setting.
  • Nurse Practitioner licensure or Physician Assistant licensure required and must be maintained in good standing.
  • For NPs - Received and maintains current Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of Minnesota. DEA registration required and must be maintained in good standing, if applicable.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Maintains required CMEs for licensure.
  • Must be competent in using a computer keyboard, email, dictation, EPIC, and PACS or similar applications/systems.
  • Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Must be willing to travel between the various hospitals served by the Interventional Radiologists.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of interventional, neuro, orthopedic radiology procedures and clinical practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the management, clinical assessment, education, scheduling and coordination of Interventional Radiology patients in both clinic and hospital settings.
  • Works effectively with a variety of professional and ancillary personnel.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Shows professional interest through self-development, continuing education.
  • Knowledgeable in physical assessment, aseptic techniques, IV skills and isolation techniques.
  • Presents a positive attitude and a professional appearance.
  • Coordinates patient care and follow up with our Interventional Radiologists and schedulers.
  • Insures patient privacy and dignity.
  • Assess, identify needs, plan, implement appropriate interventions, document, place orders and evaluate outcomes for Interventional Radiology patients.
  • Triages patient telephone calls and provide consultation as needed.
  • Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate responsibility, honesty, integrity, and regard for the privileges, rights, property and information of patients and employee’s privacy and confidentiality in accordance with the highest ethical standards
  • Must become credentialed at the various hospitals, clinics and with multiple payers.
  • Dependable – consistently at work and on time.
  • May require local travel between hospitals and clinics.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
