Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is hiring for a Clinical Nurse Manager! The Clinical Nurse Manager will manages a clinic and/or department by supervising nurses and other personnel, scheduling, performing nursing duties, ensuring policy adherence, attending meetings, developing services, acting as a patient services advocate, and collaborating with other professionals.

Requirements

• Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association are required in the first six months
• 3-5 years of recent RN experience in a MedSurg/ER setting
• Minimum three years experience as a practicing professional nurse (RN), Experience to include hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling and daily operation supervision.
• Experience in tracking, trending, and analyzing clinical performance data preferred
• Participating in collaborating in the integration of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and guidelines
• Evaluating organizational compliance with AAAHC and OSHA standards when applicable
• Previous nursing leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process to: 1.1. Observe and assess patients clinical conditions, recognize, identify and interpret emergency situations and take appropriate action. 1.2. Formulates nursing diagnosis as appropriate, develops a plan for care for individual patients, and evaluates patient response to intervention. 1.3. Coordinates and manages communication with patients, family and health care team. 1.4. Ensures that services support quality patient communication, education, financial and tribal components. 1.5. Communicates with a primary health care provider/health care team. 1.6. Provides patient education regarding the purpose of treatments, medications, disease process and any other necessary educational needs 1.7. Assesses patient needs to coordinate and manage patient care within the clinic, including triage and scheduling patients appointments. 1.8. Operates and ensures adequate supplies, medications and pharmaceutical supplies are available for patient treatment 1.9. Administers therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician such as medications, wound and ear irrigations, etc. 1.10. Participates in assigned duties as designated by the VP of Nursing and/or Director of Nursing to include, but not limited to participation on designated committees, inspection of equipment and refrigerator logs.
• Direct employee and performance management 2.1. Directs employee performance management and provides ongoing education opportunities for staff members. 2.2. Participate in fiscal management of the unit/department. 2.3. Responsible for overall management of the staffing schedule of the assigned department. May participate in a rotating staffing schedule within the Nursing Service Line. 2.4. Responsible for ensuring compliance with Standards of Nursing Practice for the assigned department as well as local, state and federal, and regulatory agencies standards. 2.5. Implents, reviews, inters and revises all relevant Oklahoma City Indian Clinic and departmental policies and procedures. 2.6. Ensures compliance with the Clinics vision and mission and guidelines of health and regulatory agencies such as the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 2.7. Leads the organization to and through best evidence practices. 2.8. Coaches employees and handles corrective action if warrant, per policy. 2.9. Attend and participate in leadership, departmental and interdepartmental meetings (includes web and telephone as necessary). 2.10. Follows through on assigned action items to satisfactory completion.
• Develops policies and procedures 3.1. Revises new Nursing policies and coordinates on organizational policies. Participates with the implementation of new policies and procedures. 3.2. Communicates policies and procedures for all OKCIC staff. 3.3. Promotes compliance with Nursing policies and procedures and makes recommendations as appropriate.
• Population Healthcare 4.1. Implementing and ensuring the success of clinic processes leading to quality outcomes as related to defined population health initiatives. 4.2. Aim to improve the overall health of the communities we serve. 4.3. Volunteer in our community based programs. 4.4. Participaties in identifying grants and/or developing grants to serve our community needs.
• Documentation and reporting 5.1. Reviews, documents and reports required elements of the variety of programs to the appropriate entities. 5.2. Collaboration with other departments to obtain accrue charges, coding or other information needed for resolution of account.
• Demonstrates Problem Solving and Conflict Management Skills 6.1. Identifies and analyzes problems or potential problematic situations and distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to construct logical solutions for the best possible outcome. 6.2. Communicates concerns to the Clinic leadership (VP of Nursing and/or Director) in a timely manner consistent with the magnitude of the situation. 6.3. Exercises good judgment by making timely, well-informed and effective decisions even when data is limited or solutions produce unpleasant consequences. 6.4. Manages and resolves conflict and disagreements in a positive and constructive manner, utilizing coaching when needed to achieve successful outcomes.
• Performance improvement 7.1. Participates in monitoring and improving relevant outcome measures and/or quality improvement indicators. 7.2. Participates in improving clinic quality measures (GPRA).
