About The Position

As the Manager of the Operating Room, you will assume a pivotal role in the coordination and management of patient care services within the Operating Room. You will lead a dedicated team of nursing and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and the efficient operation of the department. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree Nursing Required Or Masters Degree Nursing Preferred Or Masters Degree Health Administration Preferred
  • 5+ Years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois. Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification Required

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to established clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality of care.
  • Monitor patient care activities to maintain quality and safety.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including RNs, Surgical Techs, and other ancillary team members.
  • Coordinate staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Address patient and family concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance efforts.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Efficiently manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist in budget planning and control expenses within the unit.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in healthcare.
  • Oversee accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions in electronic health records.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary patient care environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including surgeons, case managers, and ancillary services, to coordinate patient care and optimize the patient experience.
