About The Position

As the Manager of the Operating Room, you will assume a pivotal role in the coordination and management of patient care services within the Operating Room. Requirements

Bachelors Degree Nursing Required Or Masters Degree Nursing Preferred Or Masters Degree Health Administration Preferred
5+ Years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois. Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification Required

Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to established clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality of care.
Monitor patient care activities to maintain quality and safety.
Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including RNs, Surgical Techs, and other ancillary team members.
Coordinate staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Ensure the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care.
Address patient and family concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance efforts.
Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance patient outcomes.
Efficiently manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
Assist in budget planning and control expenses within the unit.
Facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in healthcare.
Oversee accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions in electronic health records.
Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe and sanitary patient care environment.
Collaborate with other departments, including surgeons, case managers, and ancillary services, to coordinate patient care and optimize the patient experience.
