About The Position

Transform your nursing career as a leader in NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. NewYork-Presbyterian Queens has a 14-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to care for newborns who are premature, have a serious illness or condition, or need close observation in a monitored setting. High-frequency oscillatory ventilation is provided for newborns in need of respiratory support for complex respiratory illnesses and inhaled nitrogen dioxide for babies with pulmonary hypertension. Together, our team combines their expertise to give our most fragile patients the best chance of a healthy outcome. As the Clinical Nurse Manager you will manage patient care delivery, serving as a clinical resource and administrator in the absence of unit leaders or when care-related issues arise in the NICU. Facilitates efficient and cost effective daily operations of the unit(s) in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. Promotes a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures. In collaboration with the Patient Care Director, participates in the establishment of units short and long term goals and ensures its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals. Accountable for monitoring staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current New York State RN license
  • 2+ years of acute care RN experience (in Pediatrics and NICU preferred)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association

  • Master's Degree in related area
