About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Manager applies knowledge, leadership skills, and clinical judgment to effectively support daily operations of the medical surgical unit. This role is to support the clinical nursing staff as a resource and will align with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals by fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement in patient care. Facilitate timely and appropriate bed assignments in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize unit-based throughput, ensuring fair, safe, and balanced clinical workloads using available data and technology. Support nursing-sensitive quality indicators (NDNQI) by promoting effective care coordination, identifying and addressing gaps in care, preventing potential errors from reaching the bedside. Serve as a mentor and role model by fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth. Empower clinical staff to develop patient-centered solutions and practice to the full scope of their licensure through ongoing support and engagement. Optimize the use of clinical and operational resources to ensure safe, high-quality, and fiscally responsible care delivery. Promote sustainable practices and staffing efficiency to support patient outcomes and organizational goals. Partner with the Clinical Director to deliver timely, constructive feedback and coaching that supports professional development, promotes behavior aligned with organizational standards, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. Support patient experience and address patient concerns in real time, escalate and provide service recovery as appropriate. May be required to take a patient care assignment if this support is necessary. The shifts are 12 hours to align with the shift of the nursing unit. Pavilion 5 is a 30-bed med-surg telemetry unit with a focus on hematology and oncology patients. Pavilion 5 is at the forefront of cancer care in partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. The floor is staffed by a team of oncologists, nurses, and support staff who are committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting, with 1 year of demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • High School/GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required from an NLN accredited school of nursing.
  • NJ-RN: Current NJ RN license.
  • BLS from AHA required.
  • ACLS from AHA required.
  • 7am-7pm, rotating weekends and holidays required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • CNL or AACN Specialty certification preferred.
