City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County's only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025. With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care-from prevention through survivorship-will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. Are you an experienced Medical Surgical nurse looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of cancer patients? Join our team at City of Hope Orange County Cancer Specialty Hospital as a Clinical Nurse III in the Medical Surgical Unit and be part of a groundbreaking team dedicated to providing world-class, compassionate care to a diverse range of patients including those with cardiac, respiratory, sepsis, diabetes and general surgery conditions. As a Clinical Nurse III, you will play a vital role in guiding and coordinating care for patients in the Medical Surgical, ensuring the highest standards of treatment in accordance with our Nursing Department's policies and procedures. From comprehensive patient assessments and personalized care planning to implementing treatment plans and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process and practice standards as a framework for the management of patient care.
  • Assesses patient conditions, recognizes early signs of complications, and responds effectively.
  • Delegates to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information system and applies principles to patient documentation.
  • Prioritizes holistic care, addressing both the physical and emotional needs of the patients.
  • Serves as a mentor and role model to new staff members.
  • Integrates and practices according to the City of Hope Professional Practice Model to deliver care service excellence.
  • Carries out the nursing process, coordinates interdisciplinary care planning, and documents according to standards.
  • Acts as a change agent, committed to lifelong learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 - 5 years related experience
  • Current CA Registered Nurse License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association

Benefits

  • Sign On Bonus: $20,000
  • Night shift differential up to $6.50/hr
  • Weekend differential up to $15.60/hr
