About The Position

The Clinical Nurse II in the Neonatal ICU is a professional care provider responsible for managing patient care during a specific shift. This role involves providing safe, effective, and individualized care using the nursing process, while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of patients' conditions. The nurse will coordinate care activities, make timely decisions in emergencies, and ensure adherence to standard operating policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • Three years of current Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience.
  • Current Adult Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Nice To Haves

  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Bilingual proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general direction and coordination of patient care activities delivered by nursing staff.
  • Make timely decisions in crisis or emergency situations.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Collect and assess patient data considering various factors such as biophysical and psychosocial needs.
  • Formulate and communicate individualized plans of care based on assessment data.
  • Implement nursing plans of care and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient information and care provided.
  • Demonstrate leadership by making patient care assignments and identifying staffing needs.
  • Participate in staff orientation and development activities.
  • Maintain professional practice and seek opportunities for growth.
