Job Description As an integral member of our Magnet Nursing team, the successful RN candidate will be focused on – patient advocacy and delivering the highest quality of care to our patients ! Working in an evidence-based nursing environment that commands excellence every day; you will have a strong patient centered approach with emphasis on providing exemplary and world-class customer service. As a member of our nursing team, you will demonstrate the ability to assess and interpret age specific and population-specific data and provide appropriate communication level, treatment and care. Your capacity to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and promote the highest standards of care and safety is critical to the mission of Nursing in HSS. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain the standards of professional nursing practices in the clinical setting. You will integrate patient care standards in all clinical activities; participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes. The RN will maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers.

Requirements

  • 1+ years’ of acute care experience
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing
  • NYS RN license and registration required
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Critical care experience preferred
  • HCAHPS/EPIC knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

  • Critical care, clinical competence
  • Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to adult patients varying in acuity
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to patient change in condition such as Cardiac rhythm or respiratory distress
  • The ability to work with complex patient care equipment including heart monitors, ventilators, blood pressure monitoring and other life-sustaining equipment
  • Communicates appropriate information and patient advocacy regarding pre-operative / post operative conditions to those who require the information including surgeons and anesthesiologist
