The Special Procedures Unit (SPU) is an ambulatory center that performs non-operative treatment procedures on patients that need pain management of spinal and sports-related injuries, and other musculoskeletal problems. The procedures performed are medically supervised exercise therapies to restore mobility and function in patients who might otherwise require surgery. Some of the conditions include but not limited to are back pain, neck pain, muscle and joint pain, sports injuries, post-surgical pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)/Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), headaches, facet syndromes, nerve injuries, Osteoid Osteoma, phantom limb pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, and cancer pain.
