About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the ongoing assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of various organization-wide education, orientation, and training activities, primarily focusing on the clinical setting. This role encompasses functional roles such as educator, consultant, researcher, facilitator, change agent, role model, and leader as a professional Registered Nurse. The educator works closely with Clinical Leads, Department Directors, and Nurse Managers and facilitates compliance with designated accreditation/regulatory organizations and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing school required.
  • Familiarity with CIS applications, MS Office, Internet/Intranet.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in a clinical healthcare setting

  • One year of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively assesses, develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates cost-effective Education, Orientation, and Training (EOT) programs and processes, including formal and informal learning activities such as in-services, workshops, core curriculum, and organizational-need-driven programs.
  • Incorporates principles of adult learning into formal and informal EOT activities and interventions by utilizing a variety of educational methodologies and strategies that will increase learning and retention to optimize return on teaching investment.
  • Supports organization-wide learning needs assessment by designing, developing, and organizing training manuals, references, instructional aids, multi-media, and other materials in collaboration with subject matter experts as needed.
  • Facilitates an empowering and professional environment that fosters staff participation in and ownership of educational activities by ensuring these activities accommodate participant diversity (e.g., night shift, weekends, professional/non-professional, clinical/clinical support, etc.).
  • Uses departmental and organizational training management systems effectively.
  • Serves as an education role model and resource for clinical practice throughout Atrium Health Navicent.
  • Plans/conducts various in-services, orientation, and educational programs for clinical and other personnel across Atrium Health Navicent to meet competency assessment requirements in compliance with departmental objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Provides oversight to/complies with educational file maintenance related to internal and external regulatory policies, processes, and standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and demonstrates awareness of designated regulatory requirements and trends.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the Georgia Registered Nurse and Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse Practice Acts.
