UW Medical Center-Northwest – Center for Behavioral Health and Learning has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator. Located in North Seattle, the 6-story facility includes a dedicated geriatric psychiatry floor, a long term civil commitment unit, and a medical-surgical unit supporting patients with behavioral health comorbidities. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
- 4 years of clinical nursing experience, including experience in behavioral health
- Exposure to medical-surgical nursing or a willingness to learn the fundamentals of medical-surgical nursing
Responsibilities
- Delivers educational services to clinical bedside staff
- Conducts classes and competency verifications in various settings, including in-services, skills labs, and 1:1 trainings
- Provides onboarding education for newly-hired staff
- Plans, implements, and evaluates supplemental clinical training activities
- Keeps current with evidence-based practice and shares new practices with staff through learning activities, in-services, and information-sharing
- Addresses individual behaviors that improve workplace efficiency, such as time management and task delegation
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team
- Promotes a high functioning clinical environment that fosters continued learning and professional development
