Requirements

  • Must have minimum of 3 years of experience in Pediatric CVICU
  • Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Three (3) years nursing experience.
  • Bachelors: Nursing (Required)
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • PALS American Heart_non ecard (PALS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Responsibilities

  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
  • Serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
  • Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s).
  • Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s).
  • Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
  • May perform clinical patient care when needed.
  • Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).
  • Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
