Under the general direction of The Director of Clinical Practice and Professional Development and in collaboration with the nurse manager of the assigned unit(s), the Clinical Nurse Educator functions as one of the unit’s clinical leadership team, in the coordination of patient care, clinical practice, professional development, patient safety, patient satisfaction and quality outcomes. Included in the essential job function of monitoring quality outcomes is real time assessment of outcomes and feedback to the staff along with basic collection of quality data to be integrated into an aggregate analysis. The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for providing the educational resources necessary to prepare and maintain the competencies of the unit based direct care staff for the provision of safe, quality patient care, in accordance with Hospital policy and standards. They contribute to increasing Nursing’s body of knowledge and improving standards of nursing care. The Clinical Nurse Educator collaborates with other health care professionals in coordinating patient-focused care that is seamless, cost effective and outcome oriented. The Clinical Nurse Educator is a visible nurse leader whom patient care staff can approach for clinical guidance, support, and education to enhance patient outcomes and professional development. Education/Training Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BSN required Master’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in a Master’s program with completion within one year from date of hire. 5-10 years of current clinical experience; telemetry experience preferred Licenses/Certification: Current MA RN license BLS ACLS
