Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. In addition, we have numerous facilities in locations throughout the Texoma region. Since 1965, TMC has forged a special relationship with the people of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Texoma residents have come to depend on TMC to meet a spectrum of physical, mental and spiritual needs. TMC has responded with unique services to provide the kind of sophisticated, experienced care that was once available only in major metropolitan areas. We offer major specialty services including open heart surgery and neurosurgery. Advanced resources such as certified trauma care support TMC's role as a regional specialty center. The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.

Requirements

  • Current Texas nursing license or compact license.
  • MSN preferred; if no BSN, must complete within 3 years of hire.
  • Two years full time experience in an acute care ED setting.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ACLS and PALS Healthcare Provider courses according to RQI program guidelines.
  • TNCC required within 6 months.
  • National Certification preferred (CEN/TCEN).
  • Ability to identify and competently address needs of populations served.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrate team leadership.
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically.
  • Basic computer application skills.

Nice To Haves

  • National Certification (CEN/TCEN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with nursing management and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel.
  • Act as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff.
  • Implement a comprehensive education program for assigned units and clinics.
  • Conduct educational programs including orientation, continuing education, and in-services.
  • Provide process, performance and service-delivery consultation.
  • Contribute to the organization through ad-hoc or permanently established councils, committees and workgroups.
  • Spend 50% of assigned hours in staffing.
