About The Position

Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for a top healthcare client in Kansas City, MO . This role provides leadership and coordination of nursing care within Med-Surg or Ortho/Neuro Trauma units. The CNC ensures delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while overseeing unit operations, staff performance, and patient throughput. Working collaboratively with management and clinical teams, the CNC supports excellence in patient outcomes, engagement, and departmental performance.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med-Surg or Ortho/Trauma required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of clinical competence and critical thinking under pressure
  • Comfortable managing a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Prior experience as a Charge RN or supervisory nurse strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shifts to maintain consistent, safe, and effective patient care.
  • Oversee admission, discharge, and patient flow to ensure timely and coordinated processes.
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor for staff nurses, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve quality, safety, and patient satisfaction outcomes.
  • Support staff scheduling, attendance, and productivity management in alignment with unit needs.
  • Engage in patient service recovery and uphold the hospital’s patient-first mission.
  • Maintain proper inventory control and assist in supply and equipment management.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
