This position is a working coordinator and performs duties associated with direct patient care and quality assurance activities. Plans, directs, provides and assists in the evaluation of total patient care in the outpatient clinic in collaboration with providers. Assures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments and needs, and ensures medical orders are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Under the direction of the Clinic Manager, provides input to management on personnel management issues including but not limited to, staffing, disciplinary procedures, performance evaluation and recruitment. This position assigns work and may assure staff: complete ordered procedures and treatments, instruct patients concerning procedures, treatments and needs, and ensures medical orders are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Serves as a resource for staff as they work with clinic patients, providers, and other external parties. The scope of accountability for the specific responsibilities may vary from clinic to clinic.
