About The Position

The Bereavement Coordinator provides compassionate support and guidance to families experiencing miscarriage, fetal, or neonatal loss. This role collaborates with teams across the Emergency Department, Obstetrics, Surgery, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to ensure consistent, respectful, and family-centered care during times of grief. Grounded in IU Health's values of compassion, excellence, purpose, and team, the coordinator facilitates bereavement resources, staff education, and continuity of care, helping families navigate loss with dignity and support.

Requirements

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
• Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• 3-5 years of experience preferred.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires knowledge of personal computers using various types of word processing and database software.
• Requires clinical work experience and understanding of medical terminology.
• Requires understanding of medical record requirements, regulations, and policies.
