About The Position

The Division of Nephrology & Hypertension at the University of Utah is recruiting for a faculty position within the Clinical track, with Academic rank commensurate with experience. This position will be located in the Ogden, Utah area and southeast Idaho area. This position involves comprehensive clinical nephrology care of patients in local dialysis units, nephrology clinics, and inpatient consults with opportunities for teaching and research. The Division of Nephrology provides education, patient care, and research in all aspects of pathogenesis and treatment of renal disease and hypertension. The Division employs 33 faculty members and 12 APCs. Consultation services are maintained at the University of Utah Health, community-based hospitals, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, which provide exposure to: General Nephrology, Hypertension, Renal Transplantation (including combined pancreas and renal transplants), and Dialysis (all modalities). Clinic and dialysis units are located at University of Utah Hospital, Veterans Administration Medical Center, and throughout Utah and Idaho. The University of Utah is in beautiful Salt Lake City, which offers an outstanding quality of life in a metropolitan area of 1.5 million residents, nestled in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. Utah’s great outdoors are nearby, offering world-class skiing, hiking, and mountain biking activities in the spectacular surrounding canyons. The city is vibrant and cosmopolitan, with theater, the arts, sports, and nightlife. The area has received international recognition for its light rail system, downtown, library system, and increasing diversity. Salt Lake City is home to sizable Latinx and immigrant populations (21.5% and 11.5% of residents, respectively). Requirements

  • M.D. degree
  • board certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology
  • have or be eligible for a Utah Medical License
