About The Position

Perform complex clinical molecular tests in a fast-paced lab using skills from experience, training, and education. Develop / Confirm/ Implement high complexity molecular assays to improve transplant outcomes and further the advancement of personalized medicine. Adhere to/ Promote and Maintain regulatory compliance through all phases of validation, testing, QA, QC.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge of molecular biology values and molecular biology techniques: DNA sequencing over many platforms, PCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid purification.
Extensive knowledge of / experience in primer design, sequencing applications, RNA extraction, cfDNA extraction, and human lymphocyte subpopulation isolation.
Molecular bench skills that adhere to all applicable clinical laboratory standards/ regulations, protocols and procedures.
Knowledge of / experience with liquid handling systems and flow cytometry basics.
Knowledge of / experience with Bioinformatics pipelines and tools.
Self-motivated, data and critical thinking abilities.
Skilled in documentation/ writing of procedures, protocols.
Effective communication skills to partner/ train and educate.
EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - ASCP-Blood Banking Technologist (ASCP-BB), ASCP-Chemistry Technologist (ASCP-C), ASCP-Cytogenetics Technologist (ASCP-CG), ASCP-Cytologist (ASCP-CT), ASCP-Hematology Technologist (ASCP-H), ASCP-Microbiology Technologist (ASCP-M), Molecular Biology Technologist (ASCP-MB), ASCP-Blood Banking Specialist (ASCP-SBB), ASCP-Chemistry Specialist (ASCP-SC), ASCP-Hematology Specialist (ASCP-SH), ASCP-Microbiology Specialist (ASCP-SM), Cert Histocompatibility Spec (CHS-ABHI): Must have one of the following.
Cert Histocompatibility Techno (CHT-ABHI), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT), Specialist in Cytology-ASCP (SCT), Specialist in Cytometry-ASCP (SCYM), Molecular Biology Spec-ASCP (SMB).

Nice To Haves

ASCP Molecular Biology certification with at least 2 years of clinical experience

Responsibilities

Molecular Assay Development / Validation/ Implementation.
Perform high complexity molecular testing of clinical samples utilizing many NGS platforms and applications.
Perform high complexity molecular testing utilizing PCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid purification.
Perform high complexity molecular testing in compliance with departmental procedures, protocols and regulatory standards.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control as related to all molecular procedures implemented / performed by the laboratory.
Instrument evaluation, maintenance and calibration.
Troubleshooting of nonconforming data, assay performance, instrument function.
Critical testing/ interpretation and accurate reporting of results.
Education and training of laboratory staff in molecular techniques / assays.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous way.
