Clinical/Medical Technologist 1 or 2-Veterinary Teaching Hospital
About The Position
This position will perform complex clinical laboratory tests used in screening, diagnosing, and treating animal diseases. Assure that quality control requirements are met to validate test results, record data as part of a quality assurance program. Assist in the development and evaluation of new procedures. Prepare and verify the quality of reagents, standards, and control samples. Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine and emergency preventative maintenance to laboratory instruments and related equipment. Supervise, train and schedule temporary employees. Perform administrative functions including, but not limited to laboratory statistics, equipment purchases, service contracts and preparation of standard operating procedures. Ability to be available for occasional emergency situations on evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology with a curriculum accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association AND certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent, or certification in the specialized field appropriate to the laboratory division OR Equivalent education/experience.
- Clinical/Medical Technologist 2: Two (2) years of experience as a Clinical/Medical Technologist 1 or equivalent.

- Experience tracking disposable inventory.
