This position is eligible for a $30,000 sign-on bonus, with a 2 year commitment. Our single linac external beam practice has a TrueBeam, ExacTrac Dynamic, and Aria integrated with four other regional practices and the Rochester, MN practice. You will work beside one physicist locally, and collaborate as a team of ten regional physicists, and over forty midwest photon physicists. Requirements

  • M.S., M.M.P., D.M.P., or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a master's and/or doctoral degree in Physics or a related field.
  • Completion of a CAMPEP (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs) accredited residency in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
  • Regional physicist is expected to credential in all relevant procedures practiced at the regional clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies, documents and maintains all information used in calculation and delivery of radiation doses given to patients.
  • Analyzes and evaluates equipment performance used in the delivery of radiation therapy.
  • Provides technical assistance and clinical support to Consultant staff and Allied health personnel as needed at the regional practice.
  • Provides cross-coverage to other regional sites, which includes travel to other regional practice sites as staffing warrants.
  • Remains current in all treatment techniques and applicable medical physics practice relevant to the regional site.
  • Provides instruction to residents, dosimetry staff, therapy staff, pre- and postdoctoral students.
  • Develops, and performs quality assurance procedures and monitors radiation output, mechanical integrity and safety of equipment used in radiation therapy.
  • Remains current on Federal, State, and Institutional safety guidelines in particular applicable at the regional site.
