About The Position

Lincoln Land Community College is seeking qualified, part-time instructors to teach for the Clinical Medical Assistant program at the LLCC Medical District location in Springfield, IL. The position will include classroom and hands-on laboratory teaching. Duties will include: Preparing lessons and updating course syllabi as needed Evaluating and assisting students Keeping accurate records of student performance, including following grading procedures Providing students with timely feedback Collaborating with the program coordinator to address and resolve student concerns, proactively identifying potential barriers to a positive learning environment, and promptly reporting and managing any incidents that may arise in the classroom setting Utilizing instructional technology in support of the teaching/learning process Developing, integrating, evaluating and reviewing student learning outcomes. Tracking consumable lab supply inventory and working with program coordinator to ensure timely replenishment of stock Instructor's pay will be no less than $33 per hour. Work schedule will depend on student enrollment and class demand. The Paid Leave for All Workers Act allows part-time employees to earn 1 hour of PTO for every 40 hours worked. Requirements

  • A current credential as a CMA, RMA, LPN, or RN (must be active for the duration of employment)
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent, relevant work experience in the field of Medical Assisting or related clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated competency in all skills taught in the program curriculum.
  • Knowledgeable in course content and proficient in relevant clinical and administrative procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and sensitivity to the needs of adult learners.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods during instruction and labs.
  • Demonstrates a professional attitude and reflects the high standards of the institution and the program.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or higher preferred in a health-related field.
  • Teaching experience in a clinical or classroom setting
