About The Position
Odle Management, a subsidiary of Eckerd Connects, is seeking an entry-level instructor to join our team in St. Petersburg, FL. This salaried, exempt position reports directly to the CTT Manager and involves teaching in a regular classroom setting. The instructor will be responsible for presenting instructions in a designated subject area, specifically the Clinical Medical Assistant curriculum, in accordance with Job Corps requirements and program specifications. The role requires a strong commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards, which include workplace relations and ethics, information management, communications, multicultural awareness, personal growth and development, career and personal planning, interpersonal skills, and independent living. The instructor will be expected to create a positive and motivating atmosphere within the classroom to ensure maximum student engagement and learning. This includes maintaining discipline, meeting SMART goals established by management, and developing supplemental lessons tailored to individual student needs. The instructor will also counsel and motivate students regarding their behavior, training, and personal study habits, while maintaining accountability for staff, students, and property. Additionally, the instructor will prepare reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly evaluations, and will attend required staff training sessions to enhance their teaching skills and knowledge. The position requires a commitment to fostering a safe and respectful learning environment, free from harassment and intimidation. The instructor will be expected to clearly communicate and model appropriate employability skills, including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
