About The Position

Under the general supervision of a licensed care provider and/or management, the Clinical Medical Assistant I (CMA I)/ Patient Access Representative II (PAR II) is responsible to function as both a CMA I and a PAR II. Per standardized clinical protocols, independently provides and documents clinical care and associated tasks as assigned. This position utilizes appropriate age and developmental approaches in application of care, and regularly performs a supportive role to physicians, nurses, and families in the delivery of patient care. The staff member is responsible for securing and providing appropriate medical business information to/from patient families and funding sources. The staff member interprets, identifies, and documents this information by way of registration, scheduling, and/or obtaining authorizations for outpatient and/or diagnostic services. This position collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care is provided in a quality environment to patients and families. Administrative duties will be performed as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA).
  • 1 year experience as a Clinical Medical Assistant.
  • 1 year experience as a Patient Access Representative; or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field with no prior experience; or a graduate from technical training school in a related field of study with no prior experience.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program/certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
