About The Position

The manager, with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of the employing health care institution or practice setting. The manager functions under his or her own license and assumes accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and their families according to the standards of nursing, and or professional practice. The manager demonstrates responsibility for continued competence in practice, and develops insight through reflection, self-analysis, self-care, and lifelong learning. The manager will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in the areas of program development, implementation, marketing and review of clinical programs/services to provide a comprehensive educational experience for staff, and patients,

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse credentials.
  • Experience working in a hospital or other medical facility.
  • Experience managing staff in a medical environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and support to staff to provide quality, cost-efficient healthcare that iscongruent with the hospital’s mission and objectives.
  • Develops and maintains working relationship with all lifestyle medicine program staff.
  • Positive working relationship with co-workers and ancillary department
  • Informs direct report of issues or potential problems related to their specific area ordepartment.
  • Develops and maintains education, training and competencies to promote current clinicalpractice among workforce that encourages professional growth.
  • Collaborates with staff to update unit based competenciesEncourages environment to use evidence - based practice in developing and revising anyprograms or clinical competency standard.
  • Submits reports and requests for information by established deadlines
  • Information requests are complete, concise, and completed in a timely manner
  • Performance reviews are administered and signed by employee and returned to HumanResources within 1 month of the employment date.
  • Acts as resource for other nurses and health care professionals.
  • Provides education and serves as a resource to the community in a professional mannerincluding health fairs and other community events.
