About The Position

The Clinical Manager for Family Birthing Services is responsible for overseeing a 14-bed LDRP unit and a 14-bed overflow/postpartum unit, providing family-centered maternity and newborn care. The unit handles approximately 1,800 births annually and includes a Level II NICU staffed with Lactation Consultants. The position requires a commitment to service excellence and patient-centered care, with a focus on continuous improvement and effective communication. The manager will support the Nurse Manager by directing and guiding professional and support staff, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and performance standards.

Requirements

  • Diploma Program Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within 36 months of hire required.
  • Less than 1 year of experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required.
  • 2 years of acute care experience in area of specialty preferred.
  • 2 years of management and leadership experience preferred.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse upon hire required.
  • Registered Nurse Multi State License upon hire required.
  • Basic Life Support certification upon hire required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ongoing continuing education in area of expertise and leadership upon hire required.
  • ACLS certification for ICU, CCU, IMCU, SDS, PACU, PAT, Pain Services, ETU upon hire required.
  • PALS certification for PACU, Pediatrics upon hire required.
  • NRP certification for Perinatal upon hire required.

  • Maintains knowledge of healthcare trends and practices.
  • Completes required reports and ensures compliance with National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Participates in unit-based meetings and serves on committees as needed.
  • Acts as a resource for staff, demonstrating leadership through clinical practice.
  • Collaborates with staff to minimize hospital-acquired conditions.
