The Nurse Clinical Manager is a key member of the Nursing Leadership Team, responsible for the overall operations of the Cardiac Catheterization/EP Labs, the Acute Recovery Unit, and the Diagnostic Cardiology Department. This role ensures the cost-effective use of human capital and material resources to deliver excellent patient care, utilizing evidence-based practices. The Clinical Manager operates autonomously within professional nursing standards, including the ANA Code of Ethics and Bill of Rights, and adheres to the Florida Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies to ensure quality outcomes and innovative practices. The position is accountable for the quality of nursing services provided by themselves and those under their direction, participating in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. The Clinical Manager collaborates with other disciplines to achieve optimal, individualized patient care and outcomes, encouraging RNs to lead interdisciplinary teams. They are expected to role model current leadership techniques, foster staff decision-making, monitor information dissemination, and enforce hospital policies. The role also involves serving on various hospital committees.
