About The Position

Works in partnership with clinical and learning leaders to deliver relevant, impactful clinically focused programs. Develops, maintains, evaluates, and improves functional programs that enable Children's clinical teams to provide best in class care. Assesses and addresses gaps in practice and/or outcomes using Adult Learning principles. Maintains innovation and Evidence Based Practice in all learning, using a closed loop improvement process to continuously integrate current content and practices. Facilitates lifelong learning; consults on educational activities for interdisciplinary clinicians and positively influences professional growth and role competence/proficiency of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta interdisciplinary clinicians. This role's primary focus will be working on the Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program but include other selected programs/initiatives as needed. Will conduct regular trainings/program coordination on some set days and as needed. Schedule will be Monday through Friday with some days starting as early as 7AM.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in professional development and/or education
  • Five years of overall clinical experience, pediatrics highly preferred
  • Proven experience managing learning programs or complex projects including results measurement
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated process improvement and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor of Science in nursing, allied health, or related field
  • Current GA RN license, current multi-state compact RN license, or current license in related field
  • Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider within 30 days of hire
  • Demonstrated and proven organizational, problem solving, analytical, and time management skills
  • Proven expertise in the learning field: developing high impact educational materials, using principles of educational design, adult learning, evaluation, platform skills, facilitation skills
  • Proven ability coordinating programs with multiple deliverables and deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills; experience analyzing evaluation data and determining effectiveness of program.
  • Builds strong relationships in and outside of team; uses a collaborative and solutions oriented approach
  • Passion for continuous process improvement
  • Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in nursing or allied health
  • Previous Educator experience especially covering more than 1 specialty/location.
  • Strong reporting experience with Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong and demonstrated communication skills
  • Previous Virtual Training experience
  • Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Certification
  • PALS or PEARS provider
  • PALS or PEARS instructor

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, manages, and facilitates high impact clinical training programs that promote successful onboarding, role development and quality of care.
  • Evaluates education and training program(s) to determine the overall quality and effectiveness, uses evaluation data to develop and implements program changes, disseminating information to key stakeholders. Identifies changes over time that must be incorporated.
  • Identifies desired learning outcome(s) that reflect professional role competence and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures educational content is evidence-based and aligns with organizational mission, priorities, performance gaps, system policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilizes instructional design principles in planning, designing, coordinating, and facilitating education. Incorporates literacy needs, active learning, and adult learning concepts into educational planning.
  • Collaborates and consults to incorporate educational best practices, facilitate change, and enhance department/system goals with shared leadership councils, system committees, and/or interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitors changes in adult learning and innovates to include new techniques and approaches.
  • Develops and implements activities designed to meet Joint Commission and other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Role development/maintains knowledge and personal development/updates own knowledge continuously/emerging trends. Owns program end-to-end/expertise on best practice and industry best standards to innovate best programs.
  • Manages program budgets and ensures effective and efficient utilization of resources in conjunction with department manager.
  • Oversees scheduling of instructors/trainers involved with program.
