About The Position

The Clinical Lead provides both clinical and administrative leadership to the care team. This role supports daily operations, ensures clinical quality and safety, assists with workflow optimization, and serves as the clinical expert for troubleshooting patient care or operational barriers. This position requires strong cardiac knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to support staff in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • Licensed RN, LPN, MA, or equivalent clinical role (clinic may adjust based on internal requirements).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience; cardiology experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac procedures, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular medications.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and support a diverse clinical team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership or charge experience.
  • Experience in a cardiology or specialty care setting.
  • Experience writing or implementing clinical workflows or protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient symptoms and concerns via phone using clinical protocols and critical thinking.
  • Prioritize calls based on acuity and escalate appropriately to providers.
  • Recognize signs of cardiac emergencies (e.g., chest pain, arrhythmias) and direct patients to emergent care when indicated.
  • Provide clinical care including assessments, medication administration, patient education, and procedure assistance.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing under the supervision of a provider and monitor patient responses.
  • Maintain knowledge of cardiovascular medications, cardiac conditions, and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on cardiac procedures, arrhythmia management, and general cardiac care.
  • Document assessments, triage decisions, and patient instructions accurately and timely.
  • Communicate diagnostic results and pertinent clinical information between patients and providers.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards.
  • Serve as the clinical expert for the care team, assisting with day‑to‑day troubleshooting and clinical questions.
  • Support staff with workflow processes, scheduling, and patient coordination as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for clinical improvement, standardization, and efficiency.
  • Assist in writing policies, procedures, and best practices for clinical operations.
  • Promote a team‑based environment free of discrimination or bias.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing competency development for clinical staff.
  • Maintain working knowledge of emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in cardiovascular care.
