About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Part-time Clinical Lab Technician to join our team at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, WI. Work Schedule: 3rd shift. Part time. Week 1: 10:00pm - 6:30am (3 days), Week 2: 10:00pm - 6:30am (2 days). With rotating weekends and holiday rotation. This role works in a high volume, production based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science. $5000.00 SIGN ON BONUS (external candidates only) At Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives. Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• One year or more core lab/generalist clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLT degree.
• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Nice To Haves

• ASCP or AMT certification

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
