About The Position

This position requires candidates to have sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the role. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations. Candidates must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in each position held, along with the total number of hours worked per week. The position is governed by Public Law 97-35, which mandates that individuals administering Radiologic procedures meet specific credentialing standards. Candidates must have completed an accredited educational program and be certified as radiographers. Additionally, advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) is required, indicating competency in the specialty. The role involves operating diagnostic radiology equipment, performing various examinations, and utilizing sterile techniques for invasive procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have completed an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Must be certified in general Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Must have advanced ARRT certification for Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.

Responsibilities

  • Operate diagnostic radiology equipment under the direction of radiologists or other medical officers.
  • Produce radiographic studies used in medical diagnosis and treatment.
  • Perform all Diagnostic Radiologic, Bone Density, and Computed Tomography examinations.
  • Conduct invasive procedures and utilize sterile techniques.
