This compensation estimate is specific to California and has not been adjusted for any other geographic location. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.

Requirements

  • Requires two years of clinical laboratory work experience that cover all areas of a clinical laboratory.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA
  • Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing in compliance with CLIA, CAP, and California regulations
  • Conduct testing across Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Immunology
  • Utilize manual and automated laboratory instrumentation
  • Review, validate, and release patient test results
  • Perform quality control (QC), proficiency testing, and corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot testing and equipment issues; escalate as needed
  • Perform and document instrument maintenance
  • Recognize age-specific reference ranges (neonatal to geriatric)
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collection as required
  • Adhere to laboratory safety, infection control, and hospital policies
  • May support LIS, POC testing, or serve as General Supervisor during shift
