Under the direction of the Director, General Laboratory Supervisor, or Lead CLS, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) performs technical procedures with little or no direct supervision across various areas of the clinical laboratory, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, Phlebotomy, Serology, Specimen Processing, and Urinalysis. The role requires performing and reporting timely and accurate test results to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Duties encompass clerical tasks, computer usage, related laboratory services, and other assigned responsibilities. The CLS will work with potentially infectious blood and body fluid specimens and must be competent to assess and meet the needs of patients of all age groups or seek appropriate hospital resource guidance. Other duties may be assigned as required.
