About The Position

Perform pre-analytic procedures, including test order entry, specimen collection, specimen processing and/or blood product handling. Perform analytic procedures, including testing of specimens and/or blood products, reviewing results and interpreting results. Perform post-analytic procedures, including result release/reporting, result correction/amendment, responding to inquiries, and specimen storage and retrieval. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of test results and/or blood products by performing quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. The position works night shifts and weekends.

Requirements

• US or foreign Bachelor's or equivalent in Medical Technology or any biological science field.
• Completion of internship in a clinical laboratory scientist program.
• Clinical Lab Scientist License (CLSL).
• 1 year experience in the job offered, Medical Technologist or any closely related occupation.
• Experience in calibrating instruments.
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory principles, procedures, and practices related to assigned department (i.e., Microbiology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, or Hematology).
• Understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement, Quality Control, Proficiency Testing Programs, MSDS Program, Laboratory Safety (OSHA Guidelines, Chemical Hygiene), and Infection Control.
• Capability in performing basic phlebotomy.
• Understanding of basic statistical methods.
