Performs all laboratory testing and related duties within the assigned sections and provides accurate and timely results. Adheres to the assigned department's standard operating procedure, quality assurance policy, regulatory compliance, and hospital policies. Provides guidance and oversight for department laboratory assistants, including but not limited to conducting training and competency.

Requirements

  • Technical skills in laboratory science
  • Working knowledge of quality control rules
  • Precise with details and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (CLS) or National Medical Technologist license (MT, ASCP) or MTE-Microbiology

Nice To Haves

  • Eighteen (18) months previous CLS experience in an acute care hospital

Responsibilities

  • Performs all laboratory testing and related duties within the assigned sections and provides accurate and timely results.
  • Adheres to the assigned department's standard operating procedure, quality assurance policy, regulatory compliance, and hospital policies.
  • Provides guidance and oversight for department laboratory assistants, including but not limited to conducting training and competency.
