About The Position

Incorporates all aspects of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist I and II job roles. Demonstrates a proficient level of laboratory skills. Assumes lead responsibility for the functioning of a specialized area of the laboratory. Acts as a technical resource and provides team leadership to the staff working in the assigned area. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Related Field - 4 years of experience
  • 1 of the following certifications is required -

  • Medical Technologist (MT-AMT) - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • Medical Technologist (MT-ASCP) - American Society for Clinical Pathology
  • Medical Technologist (MT-NCA) - American Society for Clinical Pathology

Responsibilities

  • Directs workflow according to clinical priority.
  • Supervises employees and supports manager.
  • Trains new employees and students.
  • Performs advanced computer functions.
  • Oversees data collection.
  • Liaison to Pathology.
  • Performs laboratory procedures and calculates, transcribes and records test results.
  • Manages specimens for analysis, recognizes normal vs. abnormal results; communicates and documents critical values to the appropriate individual.
  • Performs quality control testing, proficiency testing, and manual results review.
  • Performs maintenance and/or calibration procedures on laboratory instruments and/or equipment then troubleshoots instruments and/or test system malfunctions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
