About The Position

A hospital laboratory is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for a night shift assignment. This role requires strong competency across Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, and Urinalysis in a hospital-based clinical laboratory setting.

Requirements

• ASCP Certification – Required
• New York State DOH License – Required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical lab experience
• Hospital clinical laboratory experience
• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• EPIC EMR experience
• Sunquest LIS experience
• WellSky (Blood Bank) experience
• Blood Bank ABO/Rh typing, Antibody Screen & Identification AHG Crossmatch & Electronic Crossmatch Antigen/Antibody Typing (Tube Method) Direct & Indirect Coombs (DAT) Transfusion reaction workups Rhogam screening Donor collection procedures Blood irradiation Plasmapheresis / Plateletpheresis Cord blood evaluation
• Chemistry Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) Cardiac enzymes & tumor markers Hormone & thyroid testing Immunoassay Electrophoresis (serum/urine) Osmolality Therapeutic drug monitoring Chromatography (Gas & Thin Layer) Specimen preparation & QC review 24-hour urine & stool analysis
• Hematology / Coagulation Automated instrumentation CBC (manual & automated) Manual differentials Reticulocyte count Fibrinogen / FDP Platelet aggregation & count Sickle cell prep Occult blood Fetal hemoglobin
