Integrated Oncology, a LabCorp Specialty Testing Group, provides reference anatomic pathology, hematopathology and molecular pathology testing services to hospitals, health systems and independent oncology practices. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science required.
  • Previous experience is not required at the Technologist Trainee level.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus.
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform PCR based molecular oncology testing in accordance with standard operating procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of various types of cancer.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Utilize a wide array of instrumentation, including 3130xl/3730xl, Tecan, Quantstudio7, and ABI 7900 instruments, performing quality control and calibrations, as required.
  • Accurately enter results of testing.
  • Review reports to ensure accurate test result reporting in preparation for review by a Director / Pathologist.
  • Recognize problems and initiate troubleshooting steps to evaluate testing failures and other problems.
