About The Position

Performs specified medical laboratory tests, procedures and analyses under the direct and constant supervision of a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent

• Previous Lab experience and/or medical background preferred

Responsibilities

• Have documentation of training appropriate to ensure that the individual has all of the following skills and abilities:
• The skills required for labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, and transportation and storage of specimens
• The skills required for assisting the License Clinical Scientist, including:
• Evaluating specimen integrity
• Processing and loading of specimen on instrumentation
• Transcribing results from printouts
• The skills required for performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting
• A working knowledge of reagent stability and storage
• The skills required for assisting and performance of quality control procedures, and an understanding of the quality control policies of the laboratory
• An awareness of factors that influence test results
• General operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the following chemistry analyzers: Beckman LX20 Abbott AXSYM Beckman ACCESS Beckman IMMAGE Stratus Dupont NKLI Precision Osmette Beckman ultracentrifuge TOSOH 2.2
• General operation of other laboratory analyzers, including and limited to, (providing there is documentation of training): Beckman GENS Beckman Electra1400C Cliniteck Atlas
• Performs other duties as assigned
