About The Position

This is a non-licensed position designed to provide assistance to the Clinical Laboratory Scientist by performing certain procedures in the laboratory within limits specified by California Law. The duties include but are not limited to: receiving and processing specimens, preparing sendouts, setting up microbiology cultures, performing instrument maintenance, and operating analyzers under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist. The Clinical Lab Technician must be able to perform EKG and phlebotomy (at least CPT I certified).

Requirements

• Associate's degree in science
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or biochemistry
• CPTI-Certified Phlebotomy Technician I
• CPTII-Certified Phlebotomy Technician II
• Two years of working experience in a clinical laboratory or a commercial laboratory
• 6-month experience as a certified phlebotomist (CPT I)
• Prior working experience as a laboratory technician
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information System
