Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services, the Clinical Lab Scientist is responsible for following established procedures to perform routine and STAT clinical laboratory testing in all areas of the laboratory.

Requirements

  • A valid CLS certification from the State of California required
  • Follows the State of California, DHS, Laboratory Field Services requirements of education for licensure of a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) required

Nice To Haves

  • Two years as a clinical laboratory scientist (CLS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • The CLS accurately reads, interprets, records, and maintains records of patient testing and is required to learn new procedures/assignments in a timely manner.
  • The Clinical Lab Scientist maintains an up to date working knowledge of all technical procedures in the department and operation of all instrumentation.
  • In addition, the CLS routinely reviews pending reports and investigates and manages all outstanding specimen/test issues and delays as well as consults with or apprises CLS, Manager, or Medical Director regarding matters beyond own scope of responsibility of knowledge.
