The primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance. The role involves assuring the validity of test results, applying criteria for specimen rejection, and demonstrating knowledge of Quality Control, calibration, and standardization of instruments. The individual will exercise good judgment and proper interpretation of Quality Control data, assuming responsibility for decisions made. Additionally, the position requires troubleshooting instruments and performing routine preventive maintenance, as well as demonstrating knowledge of the laboratory computer system regarding ordering, reports, and verifying results. Familiarity with laws and regulations that apply to the laboratory is essential. The role also includes participating in the training of new employees and demonstrating knowledge of age-specific care, including identifying the need for additional safety measures and assessing various physiological parameters. The individual will incorporate the HPMC mission of 'quality care with compassion and respect' into daily performance and communicate problems or concerns to the Supervisor. The position requires responding acceptably to priority specifications for tests and understanding VBP goals/targets, consistently participating in action plans to improve HCAHPS scores. The individual must be able to use AIDET in all settings and understand their accountability for achieving core measures and other VBP goals. Compliance with the Code of Conduct and maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information is crucial.
