About The Position

The position involves ensuring the validity of test results and applying criteria for specimen rejection. The individual will demonstrate knowledge of Quality Control, calibration, and standardization of instruments, exercising good judgment and proper interpretation of Quality Control data. Responsibilities include troubleshooting instruments, performing routine preventive maintenance, and demonstrating knowledge of the laboratory computer system regarding ordering, reporting, and verifying results. The role requires familiarity with laws and regulations applicable to the laboratory and participation in the training of new employees. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care for populations including infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, and communicate effectively. The position incorporates the mission of 'quality care with compassion and respect' into daily job functions and requires communication of problems or concerns to the supervisor. The individual will respond to priority specifications for tests and understand VBP goals and targets, participating in action plans to improve HCAHPS scores. The role also requires adherence to compliance and the Code of Conduct, maintaining privacy and confidentiality, and acting with ethics and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in laboratory technology or related field.
  • One year experience in a hospital laboratory, Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive experience working with physicians and other clinicians.
  • Ability to work in a union environment.

Responsibilities
