About The Position

OSF HealthCare System seeks Clinical Lab Scientists in Peru, Ottawa, and Mendota. Multiple openings. Practice clinical laboratory science in the specialty of hematology, immunohematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology; Responsible for the examination of materials or specimens taken from the human body to provide information for use in the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease or assessment of a medical condition. This includes the pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of such examinations; Perform chemistry, hematology, bacteriology, immunohematology, immunology, parasitology, limited mycobacteriology, limited mycology and urinalysis procedures; Calibrate, standardize and maintain instruments following established procedures; Perform quality control to ensure proper functioning of instruments, reagents and procedures. Recognize instrument malfunction and out-of-control test results and take corrective action; Perform clinical laboratory examination on patients of all ages; Collect venous and capillary blood from neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients; Document troubleshooting steps for quality control; Promptly report any unsafe practices to his/her manager and take all necessary steps to protect the patient, family, visitors and coworkers. Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or foreign equivalent degree in Clinical/Medical Technology or Laboratory Science or related life-science field
  • If Bachelor Degree is in a related life-science field, ASCP or AMT CLS certification is also required
