About the Position Clinical Laboratory Assistant Casual (as-needed basis) Days, Evenings On-site at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital in Grand Rapids Job Summary: The Clinical Lab Assistant is responsible for assisting laboratory staff in routine moderate complexity testing used to diagnose and treat disease. Here's what you'll do when you join us: Obtain lab specimens and place lab orders. Process all specimen types to prepare for testing. Ensure that testing results are correctly reported. Provide phlebotomy training. Complete annual competency. Enter orders and collection information into LIS system and subsystems. Provide results over the phone as necessary.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training course or phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory setting is desired.
- Experience in a healthcare related field preferred.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itaca's policies, visit, mission and values.
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a phlebotomy training course or phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory setting is desired.
- Experience in a healthcare related field preferred.
