About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring an experienced Clinical Lab Assistant-Phlebotomist to work at various draw sites. The job responsibility is to perform patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service. The Clinical Lab Assistant will collect, label, and process patient specimens for testing, and will be responsible for registration and test data entry. The role involves monitoring supply levels, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and handling both internal and external customer inquiries and problem resolution. There will be frequent interaction with hospital and physician office staff, and the assistant may also perform EKGs and operate glucometers.
