About The Position

The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking compassionate and motivated Clinical Interns (MFT and LPC track) to join our Clinical Services Department. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience providing supervised clinical support to children, adolescents, and families in a mission-driven setting. You’ll participate in assessment, treatment planning, individual and family sessions, and documentation while learning best practices in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. This internship is an excellent opportunity for graduate-level students working toward licensure who are looking to deepen their clinical skillset, strengthen professional identity, and make a meaningful impact. Requirements

  • Current graduate student in a COAMFTE-accredited MFT program or CACREP-aligned counseling program (LPC track), or equivalent
  • Strong interest in working with children/adolescents and families
  • Commitment to ethical practice, reliability, and professionalism
  • Ability to learn and apply clinical feedback in supervision
  • Basic comfort with documentation and use of electronic records (training provided as needed)

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervised clinical services (individual, family, and/or group) aligned with program needs
  • Support intake/assessment processes and contribute to treatment planning
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, case conferences, and consultation
  • Complete timely documentation in accordance with agency standards and confidentiality requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to support client progress and continuity of care
  • Engage in supervision and professional development activities to build competency and meet program requirements
