About The Position

The College of Veterinary Medicine has an Immediate opening for a clinical track faculty position In Small Animal Internal Medicine. Salary Grade : UC Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Area of Specialization: Small Animal Internal Medicine Anticipated Appointment Date: March 2026. Tenure Track Status: N/A.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidate must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent).
  • Ability to obtain Iicensure with the Mississippi Board of Veterinary Medicine is expected.

  • Enrolled in current American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine residency
  • Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
  • Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching responsibilities involve didactic teaching and clinical training of professional students, technology students, and interns.
  • Service responsibilities involve clinical case management, rotating emergency duty, and consultation with private practitioners.
  • Clinical duties in the Small Animal Internal Medicine service will be shared with other faculty members.
