About The Position

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction to students in the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program as they pursue certificates in Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and the Associate of Applied Science in Energy Systems Mechanical Engineering Technology. They will also contribute to program recruitment efforts, support ABET accreditation activities, engage in service to the department and college, and perform additional duties as assigned. This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Requirements

  • Eligible for certification as an instructor through Idaho Career and Technical Education (CTE).
  • At least three years of documented mechanical, maintenance, or repair experience (e.g., industrial, automotive, agricultural, HVAC, millwright, or related fields).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.
  • Ability to communicate mechanical concepts clearly, as demonstrated through prior training, mentoring, or supervisory responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field and at least five years of relevant industry experience.
  • Industry experience in one or more clearly defined areas, such as: industrial maintenance, mechanical power transmission, rotating equipment, millwright work, fluid mechanics, pumps, valves, fluid power systems, or industrial thermal systems.
  • Documented teaching or training experience, such as classroom instruction, apprenticeship training, corporate training, or military technical instruction.
  • Professional certifications related to mechanical or industrial maintenance fields (e.g., NCCER, Fluid Power Society, vibration analysis, millwright certifications, manufacturer or OEM certifications).
  • Experience developing curriculum, lab activities, or instructional materials for technical training programs.
  • Demonstrated engagement with industry partners, including employers, unions, or apprenticeship programs.
